Today was the second to last day of my rental so I decided to get the long (500km) trip back to town out of the way. The weather around Reykjavik was looking good so my plan was to camp 40km out of town at Thingvellir, the first stop of my ill-fated bike trip. The weather was terrible then so I never had a chance to do the place justice.
I arrive in the evening to witness a fantastic sunset and get to work. A young fisherman approaches me with his own camera and I coach him in the basics of long exposure photography. He is the first Icelander I have met that actually looks like a viking descendant.
